Special issue: the margarita glass.
Tequila, orange liqueur and lime juice: What pops into your mind?
That’s right, the margarita cocktail!
When talking about iconic cocktails, the margarita undoubtedly holds a place of honor. Born in the 1930s, its origins are wrapped in mystery and legend. Some say it was born from the mind of a bartender in Tijuana, Mexico; others say it was even born in Texas.
No matter who created the first margarita, one thing is certain: it has become one of the most beloved and recognizable cocktails in the world, thanks in part to the distinctive glass in which it is served!
The margarita glass: the shape.
As with any drink, the choice of margarita glass is influenced not only by aesthetics, but also by the experience of tasting the cocktail.
In fact, the traditional margarita glass has a unique shape designed to enhance flavors and aromas.
Also known as a margarita cup, this glass has a flared, rounded shape that allows the classic salt or sugar rim to be easily added.
Also (a secret every bartender knows!), the narrow base helps keep the cocktail fresh longer.
Margarita glass: sizes.
The margarita glass comes in various sizes, but the ideal capacity is between 250 and 400 ml. This size allows you to serve a large cocktail, but without exceeding it. A glass that is too large, in fact, risks to dilute the cocktail in too much ice, and a glass that is too small could be…Unsatisfying for customers!
